Giant Media is a media and technology company that provides advertisers and their agencies the confidence to plan and buy contextually relevant video campaigns while identifying the environments most suitable for brand advertising across multiple platforms. The company supports clients through both managed services and self-serve approaches to media buying led by VuePlanner, a transparent, insight-driven planning tool for buying advertisers on YouTube.
VuePlanner® is Giant Media’s proprietary technology that powers contextual, data-driven YouTube campaign performance through relevant content identification and quality scoring, pre-bid transparency, and ongoing placement monitoring. Using a combination of machine learning and human curation, VuePlanner produces custom video-level placement lists that integrate seamlessly with both the Google Ads and DV360 platforms.
We’re expanding our ad operations team and are adding a Director of Ad Operations. This role will report to the Senior Vice President of Product, based in Kansas City.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?*
As the Director of Ad Operations, you will lead several media buying and operations functions; namely setting up new video campaigns, monitoring and managing currently live campaigns, reviewing and analyzing data to make improvement optimizations, and troubleshooting issues when they arise. This position requires a good mix of technical and people skills, as well as comfort working in an operational environment where service and urgency make a difference. Primary duties include:
- Flawless Execution of YouTube Video Ad Campaigns: Ensure that all campaigns deliver in full and achieve or exceed client KPIs.
- Campaign Delivery and Performance: Manage, monitor, and troubleshoot.
- Campaign Setup: Lead the set-up of complex, new video ad campaigns.
- Campaign Optimization: Monitor and analyze to ensure customer satisfaction and provide suggestions for optimization. Work with the team to proactively investigate delivery issues and communicate any/all changes to internal parties.
- Campaign Quality and Brand Suitability: Ensure clients are running exclusively in brand suitable environments by analyzing video placement reports.
- Partnership Management: Liaison to multiple programmatic platform partners for new features and betas, capability questions and support.
- Team Development and Growth: Lead the hiring of new team members, train team on operational best practices and serve as a mentor to existing media buyers.
Additional duties may include:
- Assisting the product and editorial teams.
- Supporting Sales and Account Management team on client solutions.
- Quality assurance of DoubleClick and other 3rd party ad serving platforms.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
The successful candidate will be an inspiring and confident team member with the following skillset:
- 5 years of experience buying and running video advertising in an ad operations capacity.
- Expert media buying experience within Google platforms (Google Ads and DV360)
- Google Ads/DV360 certification and hands-on experience with YouTube TrueView advertising, including proficiency with latest platform features.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with Tableau reporting software or Google Data Studio.
- Understanding of video media campaign strategies (CPM/CPV/CPA), campaign optimization, and reporting analysis.
- Agency or large brand experience is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Marketing, related field or relevant experience.
