Directly oversee all functions, operations, and personnel related to the Finishing department. Promotes a strong culture of safety. Responsible for driving continuous improvement to achieve departmental goals. Requires daily planning and communication with team members and other departments including safety, quality, materials, and engineering. Essential Functions:
Main Duties:
- Manage the activities of up to 10 - 12 employees to achieve safety, quality, throughput, and efficiency goals.
- Development of team members through SMART goals and reviews.
- Development and execution of continuous improvement measures – problem solving.
- Maintains 1-piece flow in the department and focus on reducing waste – lean manufacturing.
- Work closely with upstream and downstream departments to improve product flow and quality.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong problem solving and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Experience in Lean manufacturing required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills to motivate and lead.

Education and Experience:
- 5 years of manufacturing experience.
- 2 years of lead/supervisory experience.
- Lean manufacturing experience required.
Essential Knowledge:
- Understanding of manufacturing flow.
- Data gathering processes and strong math knowledge.
- Team building and situational leadership.

- Ability to prioritize and make judgement calls while maintaining calm during unanticipated problems.

Travel Requirements:
- Less than 5%, across other facilities.
Physical Demands:
