Position: Fiber Optic Fixed Wireless Installation Technician

We are currently seeking dedicated individuals for the position of Fiber Optic Fixed Wireless Installation Technician. In this role, you will be instrumental in the installation, repair, and maintenance of both FTTH (fiber to the home) internet service and wireless equipment on elevated structures, encompassing homes, grain legs, and silos. Your contribution will directly impact our mission to provide exceptional internet connectivity to communities across our network, and your meticulous attention to detail, comfort working at heights, and commitment to safety will be paramount in safeguarding the continuous functionality of our network infrastructure. Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance and repairs on wireless and fiber optic equipment, using hand and power tools as necessary.
• Install residential fiber optic internet (FTTH) and connect fiber to ONT in customer homes.
• Conduct drop line installations/repairs, utilizing ladders and power tools safely.
• Update account records and document installations/repairs with detailed notes and photographs.
• Educate customers on company products and services.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues using critical thinking skills.
• Maintain and manage inventory in company vehicles for daily operations.
• Foster effective teamwork and adhere to company protocols and guidelines.
• Attend required training, conferences, and meetings.
• Carry out additional duties and tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

• Minimum age of 18 and a valid driver's license.
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Comfortable working outdoors year-round.
• Ability to work on ladders and rooftops.
• Physical endurance, including the ability to lift up to 70 pounds and perform tasks requiring constant standing, walking, crawling, bending at the knees, and lifting equipment.
• Proficiency in climbing ladders and working at elevated heights.
• Proficient in computer navigation and use.

Knowledge and Experience:

• Proficiency in running and terminating network cables, including Ethernet and fiber optic cables.
• Installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of network hardware devices, including modems, routers, switches, and access points.
• Strong problem-solving skills for effective connectivity issue resolution.
• Detail-oriented with a strong ability to follow directions.
• Positive attitude and self-motivated team player.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week

• Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
• Lineman / climbing: 1 year (Preferred)
