JOB SUMMARY
As the Director, Human Resources (Corporate) you will be a key member of the HR leadership team. You will use your HR expertise, strategic mindset and outstanding people skills to assist with change management, improve HR processes, introduce and implement strategies that measurably support business objectives and HR programs/functions for the corporate organization. As part of our HR function, your #1 goal is to support our business leaders across the organization and all their people needs.
In this key role your day-to-day work will drive the strategic direction for people programs including business objectives, organizational goals, and values. You will drive business growth and make an immediate impact through your expertise in organizational design, talent management strategy, and leadership coaching, all while acting as a steward of GILLIG culture. You will oversee employment needs of the corporate employees and lead staff using a collaborative, team building style. Your high energy, passion and collaborative approach is essential to support the flawless execution of people programs. You are able to think and plan strategically while equally executing the tactical work.
This position reports to the Vice President, Human Resources and will manage 5-7 direct reports. You will be able to have a significant impact in this highly visible role!
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
HR Support and Partnership
- Builds strong relationships with corporate leadership and employees
- Investigates and resolves issues such as working conditions, performance management, and employee concerns/issues. Provides guidance and recommendations for resolution to leadership
- Oversees the development and implementation of employee relations activities, surveys and engagement/retention efforts
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, and employment law; applies this knowledge to ensure compliance and recommend changes in policy, practice, and resources to VP of HR
- Support all changes and communication related to any HR systems, policies, programs and/or processes that impact corporate workforce
- Leads, implements, and supports Companywide HR programs/event
Talent Management
- Partner with L&D leadership to develop, coordinate, and implement processes, training, initiatives, to support the corporate organizations human resource compliance and strategy needs
- Oversees, motivates, supports and manages the daily workflow of direct reports and area of responsibility
- Leads, drives and executes talent acquisition strategies and processes while maintaining outstanding candidate experience and ensuring the selection, hiring and onboarding of top corporate talent
HR Functions
- Assist with planning and directing the overall design, implementation, communication and administration of GILLIG health and welfare plans. Supports the development of new initiatives to establish competitive and cost-effective benefit plans
- Supports the design of compensation plans, policies and initiatives. Assists with data collection and analysis processes that support research and market, pay equity and other compensation studies.
- Ensures corporate payroll processes are consistent, efficient and accurate
- Responsible for any other duties and responsibilities as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree Human Resources or related field
- Minimum 8 years of experience in human resources
- Minimum 3 years managing others
- SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential preferred
- Proven experience in one or more key functional areas of HR (Talent Mgmt, Compensation, Benefits, etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized and detailed oriented
- Ability to build relationships throughout the organizational structure
- Superior interpersonal/people skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent managerial skills and ability to evaluate the work of others
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate data
- Thorough knowledge of HR related federal, state and local laws and regulations
