Overview:
Girls Rock! Rochester (GR!R) is a non-profit organization dedicated to using music creation and performance as tools for cultivating self-confidence in girls and trans youth. We foster creativity while building a supportive community of peers and mentors, while developing life and leadership skills to effect positive social change.
GR!R is seeking an Executive Director to help lead the organization. The ED is responsible for ensuring all operations and administration of GR!R year round. They maintain the budget, conduct payroll and accounting, communicate with constituencies, lead development efforts, and manage the GR!R website. They are responsible for defining best practices for the organization’s operations and assuring compliance with record keeping, filings and database maintenance. They maintain fundraising activities in communication with the Board of Directors. Working in conjunction with the Program Director and Board of Directors, the Executive Director helps to define the strategic goals and direction of the organization. The Program Director and Executive Director will coordinate closely as their respective responsibilities are highly interrelated. Both Program Director and Executive Director will report to the Board of Directors.
Specific Responsibilities include:
30% Administration and operations -- including financial oversight, human resource management, information, database and website management.
30% Development and strategic planning -- including grant writing, soliciting gifts, coordinating membership program and other incoming gifts, and developing annual strategic fundraising plans.
20% Management of operations teams, core volunteers, and interns -- oversee several key activities of GR!R operations including merchandise, donation tracking, and donor communications as well as provide project management over key initiatives.
10% Other duties as needed -- including but not limited to: providing miscellaneous support during camp sessions, such as gathering supplies and ordering equipment, board governance support, and managing office supplies and space with Program Director.
Qualifications and Skills:
At least three years of administrative and/or fundraising experience and experience in financial management and budgeting, especially in a nonprofit setting.
Proficiency with Google Suite applications, Quickbooks, social media platforms, CRM databases or equivalent experience with similar programs. Experience with Salesforce, Canva, graphic design programs would be an asset.
A strong commitment to GR!R’s mission and an unwavering commitment to social justice, equity, inclusion and accessibility in both organizational operations and programs
A proven track record of leadership, people development and relationship management experience, preferably in a youth education or music education setting
Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach staff and volunteers
Hours and Compensation: You will be taking on a non-traditional, part-time (15-20 hours per week) role that has the potential to grow into a full-time opportunity pending budgetary and programmatic expansion under your leadership.

Masks are required for all programming when case count is over 15 per 100k in Monroe county. Our office features an air purifier and sanitizer stations. The ED has input on setting the Covid-19 policy in combination with our Board of Directors.
