What are the responsibilities and job description for the Directional Boring Locator position at GIS?
Pay will depend on experience and certifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- MUST have experience with line locating within directional boring
- If a CDL driver, operate a CDL Class Vehicle
- Perform tasks related with the drilling process
- Locate the Bore Path with DCI or Subsite
- The job involves day-to-day drilling and pullback of conduits or pipes for outside plant projects
- Work includes new builds, maintenance, and restoration in various areas
- Locate underground utilities and monitor locating process during drilling
- Read prints and demonstrate good judgment in the field
- Work well in a team with supervisors, managers, and crew members
- Adhere to company safety procedures and policies
- Employees may work more than 40 hours per week and outside normal business hours as needed
Location:
- Working on locations from Covington to Baton Rouge.
- Some visits to the shop in Brusly, LA.
Schedule:
- 8-10 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday (potentially up to 50 hrs a week-40 minimum)
License/Certification:
- CDL A (Preferred)
- Driver's License (Required)
Qualification Skills Required:
- CDL a plus
- Able to perform general Construction Labor Tasks
- Operate a Directional Drill
- Strong Work Ethic
- Be able to use locating equipment
