Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with Plant Manager and Manufacturer Engineer in plant and system changes.
- Perform preventive maintenance on machines and equipment per set schedule.
- Install and repair pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical equipment based on prior knowledge, manufacturer guidelines, and on the job training.
- Install and trouble shoot electronic equipment based on prior knowledge, manufacturer guidelines, and on the job training.
- Diagnose malfunctions in machinery and equipment per manufacturer guidelines, and on the job training.
- Operate welding equipment to fabricate or make repairs.
- Keep maintenance area clean and free from safety hazards.
- Assist Manufacturer Engineer in maintaining spare part inventory that are assigned.
- Utilize prior knowledge, manufacturer guidelines, and on the job training to perform daily activities in a safe and effective way.
- Have the ability to climb ladders, operate Fork-lifts & Boom Lifts, and carry 50 lbs.
- Able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize in a Automotive Manufacturing Environment.
- Complete department logs per schedule.
- Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
- Performs routine maintenance on building systems.
- Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
- Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Ensure the protection of the environment, prevention of pollution and the continual improvement of the Environmental Management System.
- Providing leadership in developing measures and practices that prevent accident and ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA/TCEQ standards. This includes: continuously monitor the workplace for hazardous environmental, health, and safety conditions.
- Ensure environmental, health and safety hazards are corrected, eliminated or guarded.
- Assessing engineering controls, administrative controls, and PPE on an on-going basis.
- Assisting in the investigation of accidents.
- Identifying hazardous situations that are associated with an accident.
- Having the authority to: Stop and prevent unsafe actions; stop the use of unsafe equipment and tools, stop work and/or have employees leave a work area.
- Investigate all near misses and other environmental/safety-related incidents that have occurred within the incident area.
- Ensure the results of environmental/safety audits are documented; monitoring the investigation of accidents and injuries; ensuring that corrective actions are taken; and providing recommendations for ways to prevent similar accidents.
- Ensure that all incident reports are completed in a timely and accurate manner.

- High School Diploma or GED
- Technical Certification preferred
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints and procedure manuals. Candidate has the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Candidate has the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Candidate has the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Must be computer literate and familiar with appropriate software programs. Candidate has the ability to create visual aids for communication purposes.
- Duties also include assisting in the day-to-day management of the Environmental Management System. Following all environmental work instruction and / or cleaning up spills or other duties required of the Environmental 1st Response Team.
