This position is responsible for assisting with various duties for the construction department.  This person will be expected to have a strong understanding of residential and commercial lending so they may process construction draw requests and answer questions related to all construction loans. This person will be expected to have a strong understanding of title policies and appraisals. This person will also be responsible for general phone calls and assisting customers in the office.

 

Employee will have extensive contact with customers, vendors, the general public, and bank staff and will interact in a professional and courteous manner and conduct him/herself in such relationships in a manner that will enhance the overall efficiency and image of the bank.

 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Answer and direct all phone calls to the office and greet customers in friendly, professional manner.
  • Set up construction files for each new construction loan on shared drive. Including cost breakdowns, inspection sheets, and draw card set ups.
  • Process construction loan draw requests through general ledger entries, internal transfers, and prepare wires and cashier’s checks to contractors, vendors, and suppliers
  • Help with inspections of properties when needed and pay inspection invoices.
  • Process construction loan payoffs and reconveyances. Work with title companies for draw downs on construction loans.
  • Ensure that the bank has W-9 information for 1099 reporting and input each draw into Xperience as draws are done to track for end of the year tax reporting.
  • Obtain lien waivers from contractors and suppliers, which may require some time out of the office tracking them down.
  • Process residential spec loans including ordering title, appraisal, flood, insurance, and anything else needed for loan.
  • Preparing Change in Terms for construction loans, getting them signed and updated in Encompass and Xperience.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Participate in Community Service and Bank-sponsored activities.
  • Provide superior internal and external customer service: must demonstrate self-governance, courtesy, and respect.
  • Complete required bank and Oncourse training courses within assigned time frame(s).
  • All employees are accountable for compliance with applicable laws and regulations when performing their job duties in a manner that complies with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
  • Represent the bank in a professional manner which includes a professional image, confidentiality, a positive “can-do” attitude, good attendance, punctuality, flexibility and adaptability in meeting bank and customer needs. 
  • Keep work area tidy and maintain customer privacy.
  • Regular and predictable attendance in order to accomplish assigned job duties
  • Additional duties as requested or assigned.

  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Publisher and general internet/uploading skills.
  • Must have ability to prioritize and organize heavy workload and demonstrate effective time management skills.
  • Must have the ability to work in a professional manner
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately: perform effectively under pressure; meeting multiple and sometimes competing deadlines and make decisions based on regulations, company policies, knowledge, and experience.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Basic computer skill
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A moderate level of banking knowledge desired.

 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise level.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to: sit; use hands in repetitive motions to finger, grasp, handle or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to: stand; walk; and lift or reach with hands and arms.

Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.
