ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

- Provides direct supervision of designated program staff. Evaluates performance of staff to ensure following organizations guidelines and expectations. Conducts employee evaluations in a timely manner, monitors performance, trains, counsels, and implements disciplinary measures when necessary. Continually assesses staff competency and coaches’ staff to maximum performance. Responsible for disseminating information to designated program staff. Maintains appropriate staffing levels according to provider schedules and nursing care needs.
- Responsible for psychiatric provider management and oversight for site related work and daily interactions including assisting with coverage plans for absences and leaves and exits to ensures patients' needs are continually met. Actively monitors patient panels and works closely with other BH Leaders to ensure full utilization of staff cross sites. Ensures schedule maintenance is kept up to date and qualified staff are on site to manage patient needs, including desktop oversight. Handles daily patient concerns and/or complaints and follows up as appropriate.
- Responsible for leading the day-to-day clinical operations across the site and is responsible for ensuring site compliance with policy and procedures related to clinical quality, infection control, medication management, patient and employee safety. Collaborates with multi-disciplinary leaders to ensure an integrated system of care. Runs huddle meetings. Maintains oversite of all medical supplies, 340Bs, immunizations, and vaccines in coordination with the clinical team and other BH Leaders; assesses equipment needs and ensures that equipment is operational.
- Provides nursing care/support for psychiatric visits or substance abuse visits as needed. May assist with procedures, medication administration, and vital sign monitoring as needed to expedite patient care. Fills in where needed. Provides triage services and responds to patient acute situations. Serves as a resource for medical staff.
- Ensures completion and timely submission of incident reports, reports of injury, and employee return to work slips for the site. Serves as the site primary contact person in relation to important information and the employee health nurse.

MARGINAL JOB DUTIES
- Acts independently, consistently exercises discretion and judgement in performing work that is predominantly intellectual and varied in nature.
- Maintains current knowledge of all applicable guidelines/mandates as set forth by the State of Michigan, HRSA, and other accrediting or regulatory entities, and develops program workflows necessary for compliance.
- Attends meetings and trainings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Education/Experience: Knowledge, experience and demonstrated competence in the care of psychiatric and behavioral health patients. Minimum one year in a behavioral health field with a minimum of three years management experience preferred.
- Licensure: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan. BLS certified.
- Interpersonal Skills: Develops a positive image/presence within the program, the site, and the company. Strong leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively with a large team. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Critical thinking skills.
- Possesses knowledge of Tardive Dyskinesia.
- Physical Effort: Medium. Stand, stoop, and sit frequently. Lift up to 50 lbs on occasion.
- Hours: Full time, and /or part-time; flexible and varied. Timely and consistent attendance required.
- Travel: May require limited travel within service area. If use of personal vehicle is required, reimbursement for mileage provided at the existing rate of the corporation.
