The project management team coordinates the overall process of Machine Project Execution (externally and internally focused), from order receipt through final payment, for machines manufactured at Gleason Automation Systems, Rochester, NY.
Project Manager I supports the team with order intake, schedule and resource planning and change order management. Project Manager II provides leadership and management for projects and is charged with the successful execution of all tasks, activities, and deliverables as deemed necessary to meet customer expectations.
Project Manager III provides leadership and management for projects, multi-machine programs, and integrated solutions provided by Gleason.

Job Responsibilities:
Project Manager I
- Create orders and project definition documents from information provided by sales and applications engineering
- Schedules technical review meetings, project launch meetings, change review meetings, and perfect install meetings
- Prepares and maintains project timelines and schedules to line of sight milestones
- Utilizes resource pools, remaining work, material availability, and scheduling tools to forecast the need of resources and relay that information to the business.
- Supports change management including updating budgets, scheduling engineering and supply chain activities, forecasting revised completion dates, documenting transaction history, and communicating to stakeholders
- Reports on project metrics including on time delivery, costs, and issue management
- Coordinates entertainment and transportation of customers during evenings, weekends and holidays
- Coordinates machine installation and commissioning activities with Gleason's service team
- Participates in preparation of work instructions and generation of continuous improvement initiatives regarding project management systems and tools
- Supports other project managers in other tasks as assigned
- Project scheduling
- Demonstrated experience leading and managing programs / projects from inception through execution resulting in a successful conclusion with regard to customer satisfaction and achievement of company goals.
- Experience in project management for capital goods, preferably as a supplier of industrial goods and services.
- Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills. Have the ability to present information to a variety of audiences including management, customers, vendors, engineers, etc. Ability to translate complex commercial and technical requirements for all involved in the project.
- Understanding of mechanical and electrical principles and how they are applied.
- Working knowledge of INCOTERMS, cost accounting, accounts receivables, design review and approval process.
- Position requires evening and weekend work hours as needed to accommodate customer visits
- Demonstrated experience with project risk analysis and the mitigation and resolution of same.
- Proven experience on lean six sigma or continuous improvement projects
- Working experience with quality systems and ISO9001:2015.
- Industrial production experience desired, preferably in a machine products related industry.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required for periods which may exceed 2 weeks at a time approximately 10 – 15% of the time.
- Bachelor degree in business, project management or related engineering field and 2-10 years of experience and/or training
- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project (or equivalent), relevant SAP modules
- Negligible (10-15%)
