JOB SUMMARY :
The purpose of this position is to implement facility housekeeping procedures in an efficient, cost-effective manner to safely meet residents’ needs in compliance with federal, state and local requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND MAJOR DUTIES :
1. Ensure all assigned areas of facilities are cleaned and maintained as a sanitary environment in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
2. Perform cleaning procedures in accordance with facility policy.
3. Assist in proper care of housekeeping equipment.
4. Identify and report any equipment malfunction to supervisor.
5. Operate housekeeping equipment safely and efficiently.
6. Follow and comply with the expectations of material safety data sheets (MSDS) and handle / work with all chemicals in a safe and efficient manner.
7. Follow oral and written instructions.
9. Attend in-service training programs for housekeeping employees.
10.Observe infection control procedures.
11.Ensure the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process is followed in accordance to State & Federal Guidelines.
12.Follow Residents’ Rights policies at all times.
13.Adhere to all facility policies & procedures and ensure they are adhered to by all responsible parties and carry out disciplinary action for non-compliance as appropriate.
14.Ensure adherence to the Corporate Integrity Program and the Performance Expectations at all times.
15.Perform other related duties as directed by the Housekeeping Supervisor and / or person of authority.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS :
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 16 years of age required. Previous experience working as a housekeeper in a commercial setting, preferably a long-term care facility, preferred.
Ability to read / write / comprehend the English language in written & verbal form required. Ability to communicate both verbally and non-verbally required.
