What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Glide Xpress?
We are looking to add a reputable maintenance technician to our team. Experience in the car wash industry is preferred but a background in industrial or production equipment maintenance would also qualify. Maintenance technicians are responsible for the continued repair and maintenance of up to 3 - 4 car washes in a region. They will also assist with equipment installations on new projects.
Skills:
- General knowledge of plumbing (PVC and copper)
- Welding/soldering
- Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- General knowledge of pumps, valves, solenoids, relays, belts and other mechanical components
- Read and interpret manuals, work orders, schematics, and other equipment documentation
- PLC programming (not required but useful)
- Operate hand tools, power tools, forklifts, trailers and other equipment as needed
- Electrical troubleshooting and testing (low volt, 277 & 480v)
- Technical computer knowledge and troubleshooting is a plus
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Travel between stores and perform scheduled and corrective maintenance, per manufacturer's recommendations. Overnight stay may be necessary
- Recommend changes in systems, programs, and equipment to improve reliability, increase capability, and/or reduce costs
- Comply with all safety guidelines, procedures, and PPE requirements at all times
- Maintains tools, test equipment, and materials in a professional manner
- Inspect, calibrate, and check all chemical applications and inventory levels
- Provide information and training to Location Managers regarding proper operation and general maintenance of equipment
- Effectively communicate with Operations Team and Location Managers to understand the maintenance issues and determine the level of attention and time frame is needed for the repair
- Part sourcing, ordering, service documentation and expense reports
- Regularly monitor the quality of the wash and wash experience
Qualifications:
- Work efficiently and effectively when juggling multiple projects
- Ensure equipment repairs and upgrades are safely completed within the prescribed timeline
- Must be on-call for emergencies and be able to perform maintenance or repairs after business hours. Normal schedule is M - F, 45 hours
- Strong time management skills and experience with planning and troubleshooting
- Ability to work indoors or outdoors and in a variety of weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, twist, perform repetitive motions, see variations in color, and climb and work from ladders
- Works well with others and is team-oriented
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a criminal background check
Pay and Benefits:
