Senior Business Analyst, Developer Experience
Job SummaryAs a Senior Business Analyst, you'll be working on a variety of projects to analyze, advise, build, and test improvements to our processes for both the business and its users.
DutiesIdentify operational, financial and technical risks in business processes
Identify and capitalize on improvement opportunities
Identify ways to improve internal processes across the development, release, and support phases of a product
Identify innovative ways to increase customer (internal/external) satisfaction
Evaluate project team performance to ensure targets are met
Capture Agile Sprint Team metrics (ie: predictability index, defect density, etc)
Identify business needs and determine solutions to business problems
Coordinate meetings with business users for requirements validation, scope definition, and release timeline for features and projects
Write detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify payroll applications
Publish, review and obtain approval on user stories, requirement documents
Help with user testing to confirm issues/bugs/results of specific features with development team to expedite fixes/releases
Coordinate UAT activities with internal and external users
Assist the production support and development teams during application releases
Create and broadcast release notes to stakeholders
Coordinate with the training department as needed to help with user training of new features/functionality
Work with peers and leaders within the IT team to implement improvements in project planning and execution
Facilitate all sprint ceremonies
5-8 years of experience in Systems Analysis, Information Management, or a related area of specialization required.
3-5 years writing User Stories under the agile methodology required.
3 years background in Agile software development patterns and practices like Scrum.
Experience with tools such as Rally, Jira or Azure DevOps, Word and Visio required.
Understanding of contemporary requirements elicitation, analysis, specification, validation, and management practices, and the ability to apply them in the context of a given project required.
Understanding of requirements engineering according to the specific software development life cycle approach practiced in a given environment required.
Understanding of project management concepts and how business processes and information systems are developed required.
Strong organizational skills
Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
Move process improvement ideas from evaluation to execution and ongoing maintenance and support
Strong ability to listen, capture notes, analyze, break down business problems and present them to internal and external constituents.
Ability to speak, listen and write in a clear, thorough manner using appropriate and effective communication skills
Experience working in credit card payment processing a plus
Bachelor's degree preferred
