Our company is a world-renowned pigment producer and is viewed as having world-class quality TiO2 pigment produced.
Our facility is one of the newest TiO2 manufacturing plants, which covers 40 acres with an additional 127 acres used for parking, administrative offices, and storage of equipment and by-products. Our facility came on- line in early 1992 and is capable of producing over 168,000 metric tons per year of treated TiO2 pigment.
We currently employ around 450 highly trained, local people at our facility and operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Position Summary:
The Plant Manager will plan, direct and lead manufacturing operations activities for the Company, ensuring safe, sustainable, competitive, efficient, and cost-effective operations to meet the current and future strategic business needs of the operation. As the Plant Manager you will have oversight of all department heads (7) which manage various operations within the organization.
Principal Accountabilities and Core Competencies:
· Develop and execute a manufacturing strategy to improve sustainability, safety, and competitiveness consistent with the objectives and direction from the board.
· Develop and implement EHS improvement plans to drive improvement in both personal and process safety at the siter and ensure compliance with all EHS regulatory requirements.
· Lead and manage the manufacturing operations with focus on delivery of EHS performance, quality products, increasing production capability and managing all costs (fixed and variable) to agreed AOP levels. Analyzing performance and taking corrective action as necessary.
· Develop and implement business improvement programs to deliver sustainable improvements in EHS performance, production reliability, product quality, costs (indirect and direct) and long-term sustainability of manufacturing assets.
· Responsible for managing all aspects of the capital expenditure program in accordance with the agreed AOP from the owners.
· Preparation and adherence to an operating budget to include cost controls and reductions.
· Drive organizational effectiveness and efficiency through appropriate deployment of resources and through talent development, succession planning and organization design to meet the future needs of the business. And Establish an overall climate which will foster good morale and engagement.
· Manage all aspects of interaction with external organizations (local authorities, environmental / regulatory bodies, local councils, critical suppliers etc.)
Professional Profile:
· This role demands a strong leader with a broad range of technical, operational & leadership experience. With proven management and interpersonal skills necessary to develop and lead a large diverse team.
· Ability to interact and gain trust with all stakeholders at a senior level including ownership.
Additionally:
- A degreed individual, ideally in an Engineering / Chemical discipline. BSc in Engineering / Science. ( An advanced degree is preferred.)
- Significant experience of operations within a process / chemical industry with experience in managing reliability of plants
- Minimum 12 – 15 years manufacturing and supervisory experience in major chemical process industry.
