Role Description:

Summary
The Manager, Product Communications, will contribute to a dynamic team developing new approaches to communication that improve engagement with stakeholders and meet business needs of the organization. This candidate will have the opportunity to help shape communications strategy and launch public relations plans across our entire in-line and emerging product portfolio and pipeline. The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to match creative ideas with newsworthy platforms to amplify Client's voice in the marketplace.

Roles and Responsibilities
Product Communications

  • Serve as the communications representative to all brand teams and assigned pipeline candidates, and will frequently interact with and advise brand leaders.
  • Candidate will also collaborate closely with the Corporate Communications team as well as functional partners within Corporate Affairs (e.g. Government Affairs, Patient and Stakeholder Management, Corporate Social Responsibility) and other parts of the company (Commercial, Clinical Development, Government Affairs, Legal, Regulatory, etc.).
  • Develop innovative branded and unbranded strategies and tactics to implement the overall external communications plans for our CNS, digital health, and nephrology franchises; including launch planning for new medicines and indications.
  • Engage a variety of stakeholders including media (traditional and social), patients, healthcare providers, and other audiences in product communications programs.
  • Maintain thorough scientific and industry/trend knowledge of Client's therapeutic areas as well as a general understanding of important topics including clinical trial design, drug development, regulatory decision making and public policy.
  • Work with senior communications team leaders to effectively manage high-profile product issues and crises.
  • Coordinate product and pipeline news with global Client colleagues, affiliate companies to ensure aligned global product messaging and approach to key milestones.
  • Be a strategic counselor and go-to person for high-level communications strategy with management and product teams.
  • Manage Public Relations agency working in support of our medicines. Be accountable for associated budgets and resources.
  • Serve as Corporate Communications lead during annual Strategic Asset Planning for all brand and pipeline teams.
  • Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of Public Relations programs to position Client's products in competitive environments and demonstrate results to product functional teams, including Commercial.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years working in a brand communications or related role.
  • Strong analytical skills and business sense required.
  • Effective time management skills and an ability to work collaboratively or as an independent contributor to manage multiple assignments simultaneously are a must.
  • Exceptional written, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Strategic, creative, and collaborative approach to communications and program development.
  • Broad communications experience with expertise in product communications, launch preparation and media relations is required.
  • Relevant experience at a PR agency or in-house at another company is preferred.
  • Ability to learn the company's products, clinical development, commercialization strategy, the competition, and the pharmaceutical industry in general.
  • Familiarity with clinical data and milestone reporting.
  • Skilled in managing and influencing people in varying cultural settings
  • Experience managing approval formal Promotional Regulatory Compliance process for programs and materials
  • Preference, but not a requirement, for prior experience in healthcare space, and / or the biotechnology/pharma business model.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Salary: $55.00 per hour
