The following position is to join our RTX Corporate, Enterprise Services, Research Center or BBN team:
Position Overview:
We are looking for someone who has experience managing a team of audio and video engineers,
Level 5 video engineer accountable for video technology setups, configurations, compliance, and performance of the video equipment in use within RTX either working through vendor, partner teams, or themselves.
This individual is accountable for enforcing policies and standards for the enterprise audio and video technology environment in use at RTX as well as ensuring they are current and meaningful to team and organization.
What You Will Do
- Manage a small team of engineers and support staff
- Participate in installation, troubleshoot, and testing of video equipment and systems working with internal and external partners.
- Ensuring policies and standards are defined, maintained, and enforced across consumers including partnering with our business units to ensure timely communication of changes, seeking advisement, and ensuring documentation exists.
- Align and partner with Architecture to ensure roadmap is aligned and architecture is documented for network support
- Partners with vendors to understand network restrictions, where changes need to be made, including impact to service.
- Ensures video is available by ensuring patches are applied, coordination of current releases, and vendor oversight of these services
- Oversees the accuracy of the inventory list of video equipment and tools is managed across the globe.
- Partners with Messaging, Facilities and other Infrastructure services teams to exceed service levels and no negative impact to features and stability
- Ensuring CMDB and inventory are accurate monthly for all services billed, including purchase orders and statement of work efforts.
- Participates with Facilities lead on statement of work activities including upgrades, decommission, and new installations
- Monthly numbers for billing, purchase orders, and vendor management purposes must comply with vendor requirements as specified in contract but additional fields for internal oversight per our compliance needs.
- Provides vendor mgmt. oversight with assigned vendor to ensure equipment is maintained and managed per contract
- Upload and test source code for Crestron control processors.
- Develops and assists with vendor release management by coordinating days, times, change tickets and service desk information.
- Accountable for testing new functionality and release planning which includes associated documentation and processes.
- Ensures all content in self service, organizational site, and operations playbook are reflective of releases, enhancements and user experience
- Ensures all ATOs are annually reviewed and updated in accordance with policy.
- Accountable for team playbook is completed and reviewed quarterly including diagrams reflective of the configuration and unique situations.
- Ability to review code to assist with routing, troubleshooting and performance issue (ex HTML and Network traces)
- Develops a quarterly process for reviewing environment and ensuring capabilities exist or works to standards.
- Evaluate new VTC equipment for upgrade or capabilities thus allowing RTX to consume latest services.
- Design of new infrastructure and maintain all active servers and encoders, multiplexers are aligned to the corporate standards.
- Design, install, configure, and test of IP cameras, servers, and switches.
- Ensure software versions on existing Polycom and Cisco endpoints to current version.
- Respond to and troubleshoot internal and external client needs and requests. Manage and participate in all MIMs of identified service.
- Work directly with key customers for audio/video conferencing equipment.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience.
- 7 years experience with video network for end point design and architecture
- 7 years experience with managing staff
- 7 years experience with general knowledge of firewall, proxy, and general network
- US Citizen or US Person required
- Location: Onsite – Arlington, VA
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience with Cisco and/or Poly environment
- Advance knowledge of subnetting, TCP/IP networking, and routing protocols
- Experience in a technical engineering role
- Experience working with help desk ticketing tool
