What are the responsibilities and job description for the MFG SUPPLY CHAIN INVENTORY SPECIALIST position at Glock?
General Purpose:
Responsible for inventory control and inventory accuracy for all parts/items in MFG warehouse/storage locations including WIP, Finished goods, raw materials, consumables, etc. This position is an integral component of the MFG Supply Chain operations providing support with inventory control and timely transfer of needed supplies in a fast-pace and growing environment.Shift:Monday thorugh Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm

Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
Inventory Control
Uses company ERP System and Excel to run daily, weekly, or monthly inventory reports and perform detailed analysis
Uses company ERP System and Excel to perform system adjustments as approved by MFG Supply Chain Leadership.
Uses company ERP System to transfer inventory when physical inventory moves to a different location or warehouse, or when consumed by production
Uses company ERP System to receive inbound product, including the verification of piece counts on packing slips as needed
Audits locations in the MFG warehouse/storage areas are properly named, numbered and labeled
Conducts daily cycle counts as needed
Conducts weekly cycle counts and report stock levels as needed and report inventory discrepancies to MFG Supply Chain Leadership
Supports annual end of year (EOY) inventory efforts including Audit
Investigates and correct discrepancies in report quantities and locations of all inventory in MFG location
Provides thoughtful ideas/ recommendations that support a more accurate inventory and lean manufacturing principles.
General Responsibility
Operates a variety of equipment, including pallet jacks and hand trucks, and counting scale as needed
Takes precaution to protect warehouse materials / WIP against damage and/or loss
Ensures that problems are properly reported to MFG Supply Chain Leadership
Participates in projects in the MFG Supply chain area and other areas as needed
Actively conducts shift change routines with MFG Supply Chain team members and MFG as needed. Complete and accurate information is expected from all shift change routines.
Leads and performs EOY (end of year) inventory cycle count and report results to MFG Supply Chain leadership
Performs validation of received supplies / materials according to details from inbound documentation
Is responsible for the scrap metal recycling efforts within Manufacturing and Maintenance including the return of used cutting and other specialty tools to Austria
Works with Assembly, Manufacturing and other departments supporting company business objectives
Runs Kardex as an operator when needed
Actively supports troubleshooting efforts of Kardex employees when needed
5S: Makes sure the work area is kept in a clean, organized and safe manner
LEAN: Supports all LEAN activities within Supply Chain Manufacturing, especially the sustainable execution and implementation of 5S principles (order and cleanliness) and continuous process improvements (stable processes) based on KAIZEN principles to achieve highest quality standards
Ensures compliance with legal and company ordinances in his/her areas of responsibility
Ensures compliance to ISO-, OSHA- and Environmental Protection regulatory and ensures highest safety standards in his/her area of responsibility
Keeps his/her standard of knowledge up-to-date in his/her area of responsibility through continuing education measures

Education and/or Experience:
A High School diploma or GED; 1-2 years related experience preferred and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Must have 1-2 years’ experience using computer based material management and proven proficiency with MRP systems
Demonstrate the ability to organize vast amounts of materials and supplies
Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills
Good Data Entry and Computer skills. General office skills. Computer knowledge of such software programs as Microsoft Excel, Dynamics AX and KARDEX Power Pick Global a plus
Ability to effectively prioritize, organize and multitask numerous projects.
Possesses skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with co-workers
Able to operate a variety of equipment including forklift, pallet jack and hand truck

Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the work environment primarily requires the employee to occasionally be exposed to filtered humidity and temperature controlled air between 65ºF and 80ºF and sometimes outside weather conditions, which can include sunshine, rain, sleet and snow, high or low temperature and humidity. Standing and walking back and forth from office to warehouses and other buildings. The employee is regularly required to work in an office environment and with computers and work regularly scheduled shifts within our hours of operation and may be asked to work overtime and weekends when needed for special programs or events.
