AIRPORT CUSTODIAN

This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position. This position requires working 40 hours per week.

Summary: The purpose of this position is to perform manual work associated with cleaning/maintaining buildings, grounds, and related facilities of an assigned department at the Brunswick and St. Simons Airports.

Essential Functions of the Job:

• 
  Vacuums, sweeps, mops, scrubs, strips, waxes, and/or shampoos carpet or floor surfaces located in hallways, stairs, offices, restrooms, kitchens/break rooms, public rooms, elevators, storage rooms, and other areas; performs spot cleaning as needed.
• 
  Cleans, dusts and polishes furniture, equipment, artwork, fixtures, surfaces, walls, wood paneling, windowsills, trim, doors, cabinets, vents, or other surfaces; cleans office equipment, tables, and telephones.
• 
  Washes/cleans glass doors, windows, and blinds.
• 
  Cleans, deodorizes, and disinfects bathrooms; cleans mirrors and showers; replenishes soap products and paper products. Cleans and disinfects public telephones, water fountains, or other public facilities.
• 
  Cleans kitchen/break room equipment, such as coffeepots, coffee machines, microwave, refrigerator, dishware, or vending machines; replenishes soap products and paper products.
• 
  Maintains exterior areas around buildings as needed, which may include sweeping mats, sweeping stairways, emptying ashtray pots, or picking up and disposing of debris/litter from grounds.
• 
  Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications: High school diploma or GED; supplemented by six (6) months previous experience and/or training involving customer service; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Special Requirements: Valid Driver's License is required.
