What you’ll be doing.
Job Summary:
The Junior Accountant reports to the Head of Finance. The main responsibilities are to perform accounting procedures as assigned.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the validation and processing GMMI’s monthly Accounts Payable
- Responsible for analyzing general ledger and complete a fluctuation analysis.
- Responsible for analyzing general expenses accounts and record entries and accruals
- Analyze financial variances against budget, forecast and prior year.
- Analyzes monthly financial results and work with department leads to understand key drivers, forward-looking trends, and decision points
- Assists in the management and monitoring of expenditures associated with company contracts
- Obtain and validate invoices for suitable authorization and documentation approval
- Create vendor profiles and process payments
- Maintaining invoices, support, and approvals of payment information for audit purposes.
- Assists with Financial Audits
- Actively participates in Team Projects and Cross-Training
- Ensures all data processing and financial reporting deadlines are met
- Adheres to all policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook
- Performs all work in HIPAA compliant manner
- Supports all Departments with finance related tasks
- Supports other team member in the Finance Department
- Any other tasks as requested by Head of Finance and/or Senior Management
Required / Desired Knowledge, Experiences and Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact positively with clients and professional staff
- Experience in accounting
- Problem solving skills
- Attention to detail
- Knowledge of SAP is an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to present GMMI in a knowledgeable and professional manner
- Excellent computer skills, including MS Office Excel, Word and Outlook
Education/Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
Where you’ll be doing it.
This is a hybrid role based out of our Pembroke Pines, FL office. As a hybrid role, you will be working onsite 3 days a week and working from home 2 days a week.
When you’ll be doing it?
While there is some flexibility in the hours, this position will be Monday-Friday during regular business hours (approximately 8:00 am-5:00 pm). Occasional overtime may be required according to business needs.
