Job Summary:
The Corporate Development Director is responsible for driving the company’s corporate development and emerging growth initiatives, as well as supporting investor relations activities. The candidate should be a business and functional expert with experience leading activities related to corporate transactions and strategic investments. The Director will partner with business unit leaders to evaluate and drive cross-functional projects that will add value to the company and further GNC’s strategic transformation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct market and competitive research on trends and identify potential growth opportunities in the health and wellness industry that align to GNC’s overall enterprise strategy
Lead business case development on strategic opportunities and potential transactions, evaluate strategic fit, financial returns and risks, and present business cases and recommendations to executive leadership team
Work closely with business unit leadership to understand strategies and objectives to help manage pipeline of opportunities for ongoing evaluation
Lead the overall activities associated with evaluating and executing strategic investment opportunities such as mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and financing activities
Facilitate the transaction process including developing optimal deal structure, negotiating terms, and coordinating and leading the due diligence process
Lead post-closing integration planning and implementation, and support ongoing project management initiatives to drive value creation on related initiatives
Contribute to company’s strategic planning efforts by identifying, assessing, and prioritizing growth opportunities
Support basic investor relations workstreams such as preparation for earnings calls, handling investor inquiries, and preparing marketing materials
Additional duties as assigned

Responsible for supervising multiple projects.
Responsible for supervising a team of employees.
Job Specifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job required
Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred
10 years progressive corporate development, M&A, venture capital, private equity, investment banking, strategy consulting or financial management experience required
8 years in a leadership role (direct or indirect)
Strong quantitative data analysis and financial modeling skills
High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)
Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts
Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients
Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management
Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
