Systems Engineer

Gnostech, a growing technology solutions company, has an opening to support our growing engineering business. This position requires a motivated individual who seeks to work in a team environment where creative solutions are encouraged, and technical challenges are the norm.

Gnostech is looking for System Engineers to add our team. The primary on-site locations for this position would be in Marlton, NJ.

Overview

Location: Marlton, NJ

Job Title: Systems Engineer

Salary: Commensurate with industry position, depending on experience

Shift: M-F, Days

Travel: 10%

Position Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design, development and on time delivery of applications, components and/or systems
• Defining requirements for emerging tactical and mission planning systems
• Solving system integration issues employing both hardware and software solutions
• Engineering methods to expand / extend the functionality of legacy systems
• Performing network interconnection and performance analysis
• Evaluating system security compliance by using vulnerability scanning applications
• Performing system testing, verification, and documentation updates
• Create technical documents as required
• Work productively with other team members on small to large scale projects
• Creation and modification of Operating System baseline images

Minimum Security Clearance

• Position requires a DoD Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one once hired

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Strong computer hardware / software / networking background
• Experience working with the Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments
• Excellent verbal / written communication and organizational skills
• Team-oriented personality
• Ability to obtain a CompTIA Security certification
• Ability to interface directly with end users to resolve technical issues
• Ability to create and modify scripts, i.e., PowerShell
• Education and Training Required
• Bachelor's degree (in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or related field)
  • Associate's degree plus 4 years additional work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree

Minimum Years of Experience

• 2 years

Language and Interpersonal Skills

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, understanding of military systems and operations, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Reasoning Ability  

• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Additional Desired Qualifications, Skills, Certifications
• Hands on experience working with Cloud technologies, services and cloud migration in AWS or Azure
• Experience with DISA STIGS and vulnerability scanning tools
• Experience with Virtualization, VMWare preferred
• Ability to identify, define and resolve problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
