Elementary School Occupational Therapist Job in Palatka, FL
Pay: Starting at $30 /hr, negotiable based on experience and qualifications
Dates: ASAP to May 31st, 2024
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Role Details:
- Caseload: Approximately 75 students across 4 elementary schools
- Grade Levels: K-5th grade
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate students to determine their functional performance and needs in the school environment.
- Develop, implement, and review Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals related to occupational therapy for assigned students.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to ensure the effective implementation of the IEP goals and suggest modifications as necessary.
- Provide direct therapy services to students as required.
- Advise and consult with the school staff on classroom modifications and accommodations to best meet the needs of students.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation, including evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and stay updated with the best practices in occupational therapy.
Requirements:
- A valid Florida Occupational Therapist License.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Prior experience working in a school setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with the development and implementation of IEPs.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
