The job …
- You’ll collaborate with Product Managers and other Engineers to develop features and improvements to the infrastructure that will help impact the international growth of GoFundMe.
- You’ll work across the backend and occasionally on the full stack.
- You’ll participate in code reviews to maintain internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices.
- You’ll recognize technical debt, propose and implement solutions.
- You’ll provide mentorship to junior developers through discussions and pair programming.
- You’ll advocate for improvements to the codebase and provide leadership to others within your team.
- Developing with backend languages like PHP, or Python.
- Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and systems across GoFundMe.
- Partner with Engineering Manager to lead planning and execution for a scrum of engineers.

- 5 years of professional experience developing web applications using object oriented languages such as Python or PHP.
- Professional experience with relational databases design.
- Experience using Git in a workplace environment.
- Experience working in an agile, intensely iterative software development process.
- Experience with performance and optimization problems and the ability to both diagnose and prevent these problems.
- Experience with application performance monitoring and log analytics tools. We use New Relic and Sumo Logic.
