Job Summary
Gold Star Appliance & Lighting is seeking an experienced and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. In this role, you will transport a variety of goods and materials from one location to another. Goods and materials include, refrigerators, freezers, ranges, etc. Heavy lifting is required, and Gold Star Appliance and Lighting will supply the tools necessary to complete deliveries safely for our employees. You will plan the most efficient route, ensure adherence to delivery schedules, and perform routine vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance. The ideal candidate has experience driving trucks and makes safety a number one priority. As the last point of contact with our clients we also expect a positive attitude and satisfactory customer service. This position could turn into an installation position if the candidate is interested. Training would be required, and this career advancement would offer an increase in pay after finishing the education required to provide installation. Gold Star Appliance & Lighting is willing to train, and supply education to the right candidate interested in learning appliance installation.

Responsibilities
- Pick up materials and goods in one location and transport them to the clients home or job location.
- Ability to safely handle heavy goods with use of equipment or team members
- Perform routine safety inspections and preventative maintenance on vehicles
- Plan the safest and most efficient routes of travel
- Adhere to delivery schedules
- Call customers 30 minutes prior to delivery
- Comply with all company policies and driving laws
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Truck Driver is preferred but not required
- Valid drivers license
- High School Diploma or GED
- Familiarity with GPS systems
- Understanding of all relevant driving laws and regulations
- Clean driving record
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Willingness to travel regularly and drive long distances
- Ability to work with a team and provide outstanding customer service
