Summary:
The Senior Social-Cultural Analysis (SCA) VEO Specific Analyst will support the Joint Intelligence Center Special Operations Command (JICSOC) located at the United States Special Operations Command (HQ USSOCOM) in MacDill AFB, FL. This effort will provide Predictive Analysis, Social-Cultural Analysis (SCA) and Analytical Support to the Headquarters (HQ), Components, TSOCs, and deployed Special Operations Forces (SOF) in order to inform USSOCOM leadership of complex analysis related to USSOCOM intelligence enterprise and in support of Geographical Combatant Commands (GCC).
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Provide socio-cultural overview for specified VEO organizations and provided detailed analysis of populations and their relationships with VEOs, TCOs, SIAs, state/non-state actors, and local Governments.
- Provide atmospheric information outlining leaders, group dynamics, attitudes, cultural norms, and values.
- Highlight major components of human society: economic, demographic, legal/regulatory, political/institutional, social/cultural, religious/ideological, and relevant geographic variables outlining support or resistance to VEO’s to the operational commander.
- Highlight and articulate exploitable operational opportunities within the socio-cultural fabric of a VEO area of interest tailored for use within an IW/UW environment.
- Respond to Requests for Information (RFI’s) through a variety of products such as Intelligence Studies, Desk Notes, PowerPoint briefings with associated textual analyses and graphical representation of areas of interest, at various classification levels.
- Respond to assigned RFIs by researching, analyzing, and producing finished intelligence including, but not limited to, Intelligence Studies, Desk Notes, PowerPoint briefings (with associated textual analyses and graphical representation of areas of interest), at required classification levels.
- Upload all supporting data, including geospatial files, spreadsheets, link analyses, social networking analyses, nodal analyses, and cited materials to the SOF Geospatial Enterprise (SGE) or User Defined Operational Picture (UDOP) upon completion.
- Respond to socio-cultural VEO taskings and fuse socio-cultural VEO analysis with other intelligence/disciplines into comprehensive, finished intelligence products. Upon request, brief SOCOM/TSOC leadership, staff, visitors, and SOF on socio-cultural matters regarding VEOs in respective AOR/AOI.
- Analysts shall complete 100% of RFI’s assigned per month. All submitted work must be deemed “Acceptable” by JIC Reviewers.
Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Knowledge of analysis methodologies.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate-level degree (MA/MS) in a social science or international relations or intelligence studies discipline OR 5 years on a SOCOM or TSOC SCA team.
- Intermediate level certification on ArcGIS, analysts have a working knowledge and skills necessary to process GIS data and conduct spatial analysis, suitability analysis and create maps.
- Minimum 10 years’ SCA experience studying impacts of VEO’s in foreign countries.
- Minimum 8 years’ experience with social/cultural studies (e.g., anthropology, sociology, political science, etc.) or development economics
- Minimum 5 years’ IC or DOD intelligence experience with analysis, reporting and briefing in DOD settings.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience using Anthro-Mapper.
- Current Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Must have valid US Passport.
- Travel is required to various CONUS and OCONUS non-hazardous locations.
