What are the responsibilities and job description for the Painter position at Golden Nugget?
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, the incumbent the incumbent is responsible for all property painting functions.
- Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Gaming Commission Regulations, Federal and State laws and regulations, and Golden Nugget and departmental policies and procedures.
- Consistently deliver positive, courteous and professional guest service in all interactions with guests, visitors, vendors and fellow employees.
- Apply coat of paint, varnish, stain, enamel or lacquer to decorate and protect interior and exterior surfaces, trimmings and fixtures using brushes, rollers, high and low volume spray equipment.
- Apply paint with cloth, brush, sponge, fingers or plastic to create special effects. Simulate wood grain, marble, brick tile or other specialty effects.
- Smooth surface and remove old paint from surface for painting; prepare surface as appropriate and cost effective; fills voids with putty type filler; remove and replace wall fixtures.
- Select premixed paints, color matches or mixes required portions of pigment, oil and thinning and drying substances to prepare paint that matches specified colors.
- Erect scaffolding or sets up ladders to perform tasks above ground level.
- Maintain tools, equipment and supplies in good, clean, operating order.
- Interact with internal departments to coordinate work flow.
- Maintain a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility.
- Demonstrate a commitment to ensuring responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service by discreetly notifying appropriate management of concerns and observations.
- Ensure prompt and discrete notification to senior management and/or the Ethics Hotline of any observation of illegal acts and/or internal ethics violations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- One (1) year certification from college or technical school required.
- One (1) to three (3) years of “hands on” experience or equivalent combination of training and/or experience required
- Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must have solid decision-making, organization, and interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal communication skills are required. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced multi-tasking, hands-on environment. Ability to establish and maintain a positive and professional working relationships with all individuals. Ability to work occasional overtime and irregular hours.
