What are the responsibilities and job description for the Product Description Writer position at Goldin?
Goldin is seeking a Product Description Writer who will use established industry knowledge to write best-in-class editorial content for its product description pages. The Product Description Writer will describe each item in a way that is accurate, informative, and approachable. Every day at Goldin is different; we quite literally never know what the next amazing collectible will be that will enter our facility. This individual will be an integral part of Goldin’s editorial team, navigating a fast-paced work environment as processes improve, inventory grows, and Goldin scales. Editorial is of the utmost importance for buyers and sellers alike and we are looking for a passionate, detail-oriented, deadline-conscious writer to help us manage our immense inventory of the world’s coolest collectibles.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Generate interest in lots by writing compelling and engaging content
- Ensure lot title and image match and notate any important details that may be missing from the title
- Write detailed descriptions of lots in upcoming auctions adhering to established style and content rules
- Ensure information about lots is accurate and an item’s condition is fully described
- Research special projects as assigned
- Assist with the final level of QA on descriptions before they go live in auction
- Liaise with other departments to collect more information about lot items
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, or Communications, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 1 year of writing experience
- Writing experience in collectibles, including sports cards, memorabilia, comics, games, coins, toys, etc.
- Proficiency in Microsoft and Google Suite
- Team player, ready to give and receive constructive feedback
- Stickler for meeting deadlines and able to multitask and manage multiple projects at once
- Ability to pass a writing and grammar test
- Ability to provide published writing samples about collectibles
- This position is remote, but ability to work from our Runnemede office is a plus
- An advanced understanding and proficiency in sports cards is a plus
- Proficiency in Content and Workflow Management Systems is a plus
