Job Description
Job Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs Services LLC in Dallas, Texas. Measure, monitor, and analyze the Firm’s market risk, including monitoring and adherence to limits. Contribute to oversight of the Firm’s market risk by leveraging the functional knowledge including different ledgers, reference data systems, regulatory databases, and Firm’s data architecture. Create process map to help document and understand how data flows from source systems into downstream systems. Design processes and procedures to support monitoring and reporting across jurisdictions. Leverage deep understanding of workflows, systems to consolidate process maps and utilize them to train junior team members on various regulatory processes. Mitigate risk by supporting cross-divisional business trading desks across the United States and Europe and use of different systems to analyze data flows that need to be validated. Assess and analyze breaches to regulatory obligations and appropriately escalate to Legal and Compliance as well as external regulators. Assist in reporting Firm trading information to external regulators leveraging numerous proprietary Firm systems. No prior knowledge and experience with proprietary technologies or systems required. Determine whether a disclosure is required through the usage of business decision models that drives reporting. Coordinate with internal stakeholders and Firm’s clients to verify accuracy of position before disclosure. Build technological canvases and dashboards across hundreds of data sets and design a new report system for new acquisitions and short interest reporting obligations, as well as upgrade of existing systems. Leverage technical expertise on data querying, preparation, blending, visualization, design and warehousing to use the Firm’s business intelligence (BI) suite of tools. Develop expertise on tools like Alteryx, SQL, Aqua Data Studio, and Tableau to create dashboards and complex data analytics. Adherence to Software Development Life Cycle of the Firm’s BI tool kit to ensure defensive design and effective automation controls.
Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, a relevant Engineering degree, including Industrial Engineering, Commerce, Business Management or a related field. Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Prior experience must include three (3) years of experience with the following: working with market and financial instruments (including equities, fixed income, exchange traded derivatives, and OTC derivatives); US-based regulatory obligation. Includes responding to regulator inquiries from FINRA and SEC; using JIRA framework and technologies that govern data flow and eligibility logic to build required control framework that provide visibility on risk, including Key Risk Indicators (KRI) accuracy, timeliness, completeness and other metrics; owns relationships with internal and external counterparties, including stakeholders in the business, engineering, compliance and legal, counselors and clients; and Business Intelligence tools, including Alteryx, Tableau and SQL, to develop BI solutions and define strategies.
