Medical Billing Specialist

Description

** $2,000 SIGN ON BONUS **
Good Shepherd Hospice, a leading regional provider of hospice care, is seeking a full-time, experienced Hospice Medical Billing Specialist for our corporate office in Oklahoma City.
  • In Office: Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm 
  • Experience is Cash posting & Commercial Billing
  • Hospice Billing Preferred


Key Responsibilities

  • File electronic/paper claims to Medicare, Medicaid and commercial insurance payers
  • Review and analysis of claims
  • Check eligibility
  • Obtain authorizations
  • Insurance claim follow-up
  • Process rejections and denials
  • Initiate claim appeals when necessary
  • Post payments and adjustments
  • Work with field staff to obtain missing billing documentation


Skills Knowledge and Expertise

  • Two years of experience in Medicare, Medicaid and commercial claims billing required
  • Working knowledge of Medical Terminology/Coding (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) 
  • Experience processing claims through a clearinghouse 
  • Experience working in HomeCare HomeBase software
