Overview

We are looking for a dynamic and compassionate Assistant Group Leader to support and assist staff in carrying out all planned educational and enrichment activities for after school enrichment and recreational program in Brooklyn.
Reports to: Program Director, Miccio Cornerstone Community Center
Location: 110 West 9th Street Street, Brooklyn, New York 11231
Hours: Up to 18 Hours/Week; Non-Exempt
Major Duties:
- Assist the Group Leader and Activity Instructors with activities, including sports and recreation, educational activities and arts and craft.
- Collaborate with Group leader to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
- Collect attendance folder and other data.
- Work with After School Program Supervisor, Group Leader, or other designated Supervisor in carrying out special activities of the program.
- Assist with monitoring and maintaining the rules of the program.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Prior experience working with children strongly preferred.
- Must demonstrate reliable and consistent work habits, and ability to work with peers and participants.
- Demonstrated verbal, organization, and prioritization skills.
- Capability to transition easily between working independently with a high degree of self-initiative and working as part of a team.\
