Overview
The Payroll Analyst is responsible for the agency's biweekly payroll processing functions, ensuring that pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.
Reports to: Accounts Payable Manager
Location: 8th Floor, 305 7th Avenue, New York, NY 10001
Hours: 35 Hours/Week
Salary: $50,000-$55,000/Yr.
Duties:
- Oversees procedures and processes and manages inquiries and requests related to preparation and distribution of payroll.
- Maintaining payroll information by collating, calculating, and entering data
- Verify payroll processes including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
- Preparing reports that include summaries of earnings, tax deductions, and non-taxable wages
- Resolving payroll discrepancies and answering any employee payroll queries
- Maintaining all payroll operations according to company policies and procedures
- Maintains or oversees the maintenance of employee records.
- Processing and issuing W-2 forms to employees
- Verify and correct Time and Attendance data.
- Prepare payroll-related correspondence and documents.
- Review payroll data from ADP to ensure correct payroll each period.
- Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
- Resolve Accounting reconciliation discrepancies per the payroll accountant.
- Support internal and external customers that have payroll inquiries
- Analyze and process off-cycle pay, special payments, adjustments, and reversals
- Determine the root cause of payroll errors by collecting and analyzing information under strict deadlines
- Proactively ensure all errors and issues are resolved promptly
- Calculate, process, and record overpayment repayments
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Stay up to date on state and federal payroll and tax laws
- Serves as the backup to the Payroll Specialist.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required. A minimum of three years Payroll experience preferred. At least one year of ADP Workforce Now experience required.
- Bachelor’s degree and experience in social service agency preferred.
- Computer and Microsoft Office experience a must.
- Must be honest and maintain a professional, courteous manner when interacting with all levels of agency staff.
- Confidentiality and respect for the privacy of employee records
- Must have a commitment to work from a strength based and/or youth development perspective.
