The Assistant Kitchen Manager is the leader of our kitchen team working with and alongside our GM & Kitchen Manager.
Duties / Responsibilities :
Responsible, hard-working, great attitude and willingness to learn and take direction are of utmost importance for an employee to succeed at Goodfellas!
Keep notes and logs of all events & busy volumes in the Manager Logbook
Ideas to improve service or overall store operations
Training of line-level staff; prep work, cooking, health & safety practices, 30-second relationship strategy and customer service skills
Provide the best product possible for our guests
Obtain food manager's certification (provided by Goodfellas)
Maintain inventory of all food ingredients, stocking as needed
Follow all health and sanitation practices, as well as all safety procedures and protocols
The AKM is responsible for all management duties in the absence of the GM & KM.
Requirements :
Required Skills / Abilities :
Knowledge of food safety procedures is preferred; enthusiasm to learn is required!
Excellent interpersonal skills & time management skills
Ability to work under pressure and multi-task
Ability to work in collaboration with team members s / he is also managing
Ability to work efficiently and safely with all kitchen equipment
Open availability is required
Education and Experience :
Previous experience as a shift lead or manager is highly preferred
Previous restaurant experience preferred but not required
Physical Requirements :
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively
Ability to stand for 10-hour shifts
