Employment Specialist Job Description
Employment Specialists assist persons with disabilities/disadvantages to obtain and retain community-based competitive employment through provision of on-the-job training and on-going support services. They are responsible for the following duties:
- Contact employers to perform job development and job analysis.
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with community employers.
- Assist in matching participants with jobs.
- Conduct one-to-one training on the job.
- Develop Individual Employment Plans for participants.
- Provide support services to meet individual participant needs.
- Assist participants in adjusting to social environment on the job.
- Act as an advocate for program participants in the work place as well as in the community.
- Record data as requested in regards to training time and approach as well as characteristics and progress of participants.
- Maintain working relationship with OVR.
- Prepare Weekly Plans.
- Responsible for monitoring and requesting client hours.
- Assist in recruitment and intake of program participants.
- Assist in the Vocational Evaluation of participants.
Job Qualifications
- Degree in Human Service field preferred. Experience working directly with individuals with disabilities/disadvantages.
- Must have valid PA Driver’s License and 3 year clean MVR.
- Must have clean Criminal History, Child Abuse, and Fingerprinting Clearances.
Salary : $11 - $12
