Intake and Enrollment Specialist

Goodwill Industries of Northern Illinois is seeking at Intake and Enrollment Specialist. This position will be responsible for intake, enrollment, and recruitment functions for programs for Goodwill Industries of Northern Illinois. This position will present information on services at Goodwill, as well as administer various tests and assessments and enter information into a database. Assist with referral coordination, records, and reports. Work collaboratively with programs and community partners.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

• Set up and administer assessments for potential customers entering Goodwill programs, including the TABE test (Test of Adult Basic Education), CASAS, WorkKeys, and other assessments.
• Provide information on Goodwill programs and assist customers in document completion and enrollment.
• Work with referral agencies and partners to coordinate services for customers including updating Goodwill’s information in community database systems, including 211.
• Assist Goodwill programs with data entry, reporting, and follow up services.
• Schedule students for classes and workshops.
• Conduct eligibility screening for customers in various Goodwill locations.
• Assist staff with recruitment efforts and provide necessary guidance on the eligibility/suitability requirements.
• Identify and conduct outreach efforts throughout the communities we serve. This includes identifying and attending resource fairs, community events, and conducting presentations to other agencies about services and programs Goodwill provides.
• Participate in meetings, committees, and ongoing training related to working effectively with program participants.
• Implement and maintain a client characteristic and tracking system.
• Ensure confidentiality and completeness of records.
• Show tolerance, flexibility, and respect in dealing with persons from disadvantaged social, economic and educational backgrounds along with cultural differences.
• Display a responsive and professional manner in promptly responding to requests, complaints, and problems.
• Maintain a working knowledge of program goals, guidelines and eligibility criteria, as well as knowledge of other partner programs.
• Act as back-up support for receptionist at Mission & Administration headquarters
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Basic Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required, College degree preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with barriers to employment and understand and communicate with diverse groups
• The ability to motivate and assist individuals in educational and vocational programs
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work some nights and weekends as part of recruitment efforts
• High customer service focus.
• Functional use of Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
