Job Summary
The Job Developer is responsible for networking with private and public sector employers and businesses to develop career-building internships, placements, and retention in placements for YouthBuild participants. This position conducts regular follow up with youth who are employed and/or attending post-secondary education to ensure program performance measures are met.

Essential Duties
- Through networking and personal contacts this position develops relationships with local employers, businesses and post-secondary representatives to identify potential employment or academic opportunities for youth exiting the program.
- Monitors and coaches youth placed in jobs or internships, as necessary, and reports progress to the YouthBuild team.
- Monitor placement and retention rate of those individuals who are placed into jobs.
- Maintain a good understanding of the services provided to participants during the time they have exited and looking for employment.
- Track data of those individuals working to ensure accurate date is collected for Department of Labor reports.
- Develop career building internship/apprenticeship opportunities for youth seeking career pathways that will lead to self-sufficiency.
- Create partnership opportunities with local unions.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to establish rapport and relate sensitively to a multiracial/multicultural group.
- Coordinates with YouthBuild staff in evaluating the overall job readiness of youth who are ready for employment.
- Provide follow up services and maintain regular monthly contact with youth who are employed or attending post-secondary institutions.
- Conduct job readiness classes that will provide support to those who are preparing for work or are already employed.
- Maintain positive relationships with job site managers and aggressively mediates potential problems.
- Work with employers to maximize participant employment retention and success by providing assessment and mediation services to employer/employee as part of the job placement procedure.
- Enter and maintain case notes in Apricot of employment/retention and other placement efforts for individuals with whom this position works.
- Meet or exceed performance measures as defined by Department of Labor standards.
- Meet or exceed performance expectations as defined in the Program Evaluation efficiency, effectiveness and satisfaction measures.
- Ensure that participant files/records are maintained in an organized and legible manner in accordance with P&P CARF requirements.
- Meet or exceed the attendance expectations for this position.
- Actively maintain a safe, healthy, and positive environment that promotes the physical and emotional well-being of employees, customers, and participants.

Education And/Or Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree is preferred - Experience may be substituted for degree.
- Three (3) or more years of job development/placement working with a wide variety of employers preferred.
- Two (2) or more years’ experience working with young adults in a vocational and/or educational setting preferred.
First Aid/CPR Certification required

- Must have strong written communication and organizational skills
- Must be able to identify community resources and make appropriate recommendations.
- Must possess a thorough understanding of programming needs of individuals in this program.
- Must be able to travel throughout the Omaha metro area.
