HOME HEALTH SERVICES AT GOODWIN HOUSE

Goodwin House is proud to offer skilled outpatient nursing and specialty services in partnership with Virginian Home Health Services. We provide this Medicare-certified service to patients in the comfort of their own homes or retirement communities throughout the Northern Virginia cities and counties of Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun and Prince William.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Administrative Assistant/Medical Records Manager will be responsible for supporting the Executive Director of Home Health and Rehabilitation, Home Health Associate Director, Clinical Nurse manager and Therapy Manager and Rehab Manager in all aspects of the home health/Rehab office. The Administrative Assistant/Medical Records Manager will input/upload all clinical records into electronic EMR, maintain system for communicating with referring physicians, and answer all phone calls. The Administrative Assistant/Medical Records Manager may assist with payroll and maintaining CPR certification and licensure dates for clinical staff as well as other duties as assigned to support the mission of Home Health and Rehabilitation at Goodwin House.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Effectively communicates with all physician’s offices to provide accurate treatment notes/orders and other necessary documentation to start and complete patient’s care including Face to Face completion
  • Can prepare OASIS data for exporting and will export data on a regular basis to Medicare.
  • Assure SOC and recertification case conferences with disciplines involved in the patient’s care are in the charts completed.
  • Monitoring and assuring that agency is within Medicare guidelines with Face to Face requirements
  • Attends mandatory meetings/in-services and maintains 100% compliance with mandatory data based in house training.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Rehab/HH Director(s)

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel, be willing to adapt to various EMR systems currently used as well as other programs used throughout the community
  • Communication, documentation and group dynamics skills
  • Willing to work beyond normal working hours, on weekends and in other positions temporarily, when necessary
  • Maintain privacy and confidentiality of resident information at all times
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public
  • Must be able to follow oral and written instructions
