About The position:
Provide a variety of supporting administrative functions relating to the company's global trademark portfolio. Work is detail-orientated, emphasizing accuracy, consistency and efficiency. Work is generally short-cycled and the incumbent operates under general supervision with limited guidance of Senior Legal Counsel - Intellectual Property.
Primary Responsibilities
Docket due dates and electronically file all USPTO communications; forward trademark prosecution documents as appropriate; obtain trademark use information and specimens from business units; run SAP reports and obtain invoices showing use of trademarks to support U.S. applications and registrations; maintain U.S. trade name registrations and docket, filing new applications and renewals as required.
Prepare U.S. trademark renewals for attorney review and once finalized file with USPTO; maintain foreign trademark renewal docket; contact global business units to gather information on which to base foreign renewal decisions; meet with attorney to make decisions on foreign registrations; instruct third-party renewal service and provide necessary documentation as required; electronically file all communications related to foreign renewals.
Prepare agreement routing notes, route various trademark-related agreements and monitor status of routes; monitor agreement renewal/expiration dates and notify attorney; process invoices
Provide general administrative support to the Licensed Products business; maintain the global Licensed Products Master List
Assist attorney with incoming requests pertaining to trademarks; prepare simple trademark authorizations, consents, releases and other legal documents for attorney review.
Required Education and Experience
High School Diploma
Bachelor's degree and/or a paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred
5 years experience with a law firm or corporate law department providing legal support.
Experience with trademark matters, including docketing and filing practices (foreign and domestic), is preferred
Desired Skills and Abilities
Excellent communication skills; ability to build relationships and collaborate with stakeholders at various organizational levels, both internal and external to Goodyear.
Strong ability to manage and meet deadlines, handle high volume of work consistently
Excellent writing, organizational and analytical skills.
Ability to work effectively both autonomously and as part of a team.
