What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Chef position at Goosetown Cafe?
- Oversee all aspects of food preparation and presentation, including menu planning, recipe development, and kitchen operations.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and consistency.
- Manage food and labor costs, and work with management to develop and maintain budget targets.
- Hire, train, and manage kitchen staff, including scheduling and performance evaluations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local suppliers to ensure high-quality ingredients.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
- Continually develop new and innovative menu items to keep the restaurant menu fresh and exciting.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of experience in a culinary leadership role.
- Proven ability to manage and motivate a kitchen team.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality.
- Flexible schedule, with availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
