Job Title: Utility Person 1st Shift – Gorman-Rupp - Engineered Systems
Position Summary
Perform a variety of duties in departments as assigned where standard practice has been established to assist in or substitute where additional man power is required.
Essential Functions and Basic Duties
Assumes responsibility for the correct and timely completion of production functions through the operation of Engineered Systems.
- Perform Sandblast, wash/ spray paint, stockroom, receiving areas as required.
- Work from instructions, established procedures, standard practice, work orders, and other information; such as, requisitions, purchase order and pick lists. Operate forklift as required in duties performed and use handcart, common tools and/or equipment utilized by respective department assignment.
Assumes responsibility for completing production functions in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
- Follows established production procedures and instructions.
- Meets quality and safety standards.
- Meets deadlines.
Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining good communications, coordination, and working relations with Company personnel and with management.
- Assists and supports production personnel as needed.
- Keeps supervisor informed of area activities and of any significant concerns. Identifies problems and provides suggestions.
- Attends meetings as required.
Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
- Completes special projects as assigned.
- Completes reports and documents accurately and timely as required.
Education/Certification
High School graduate or equivalent.
Experience Required
At least one (1) year of experience in operating manufacturing equipment.
Required Knowledge
Understanding of basic principles of machine operation.
Understanding of production standards and procedures.
Understanding of manufacturing setting.
Skills/Abilities
Quality orientation and attentive to detail.
Good manual dexterity.
Cooperative and willing to assist others.
Ability to closely follow written and verbal instructions.
Physical Activities and Requirements of this Position
Medium work; exerting up to 50 lbs. occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and 10 lbs. constantly.
Bending, stretching, lifting, and reaching. Requires a repertory test.
Working Conditions
Must work under hazardous conditions, chemical exposures, moving machinery, exposure to blood, etc.
Worker subject to fumes, odors, dusts, gases, and/or poor ventilation that affect the skin or respiratory system.
