What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Laborer position at Gowan Company?
Gowan Milling Blytheville is looking for a Production Laborer. This position is under direct supervision of the Production Operator/Formulator.
\n- To perform labor functions that include but are not limited to the following:
- Production Operations
- Packaging Operations
- Housekeeping, which includes system cleanouts
- Any number of jobs other than what is described in this basic classification
- To perform this job satisfactory, the candidate must possess the following qualifications:
- Capable of following safety procedures
- Capable of following work instructions
- Capable of operating limited equipment and tools
- Capable of working in confined spaces
- Capable of operating a forklift
- Regularly required to remain in stationary position for prolonged periods of time.
- Occasionally required to move around the plant site
- Regularly required to descend/ascend stairs.
- Regularly lift and/or move objects 5-50 lbs.
- Occasionally lift and/ or move objects more than 50 lbs.
- Requires frequent bending, reaching, squatting, pulling, and pushing.
- Ability to work irregular hours, nights, weekends, and holidays The position rotates days to nights, 12 hour shifts, 6am-6pm, 6pm-6am Typical M-F; some Saturdays when needed
- Must be able to properly wear a full-face respirator.
- Must obtain a forklift license within 6 months of full time hire date.
- Must be able to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment.
- Starting pay rate $19/hr
