What qualifies you?
- Chemical Operator experience in reactions/synthesis: 2-5 years minimum (Preferred)
- Math & Mechanical: 1-3 years minimum (Preferred)
- Familiarity with cGMP and ability to learn/practice Safe Quality Food requirements.
- Able to troubleshoot and provide direction for improving operations and processing conditions
- Basic Mathematics
- Operation of electronic batching controls, scale, and computers
- Practice good communication skills: both written and verbal

What else will you do?
- Operate according to established procedures i.e., DOP's, SOP's, and SOF's
- Fill out and initial batch sheets
- Ability to learn how to operate basic control systems that monitor levels, temperatures, pressures, and flow rates of products.
- Familiarity with chemical hoses and connections, operation of valves, and various styles of pumps. This includes the proper clearing and isolation of this equipment.
- Monitor and make necessary adjustments to control systems or manually operated equipment.
- Ability to learn how to troubleshoot processes to ensure product quality and personal safety, while avoiding environmental problems and unnecessary equipment repairs.
- Ensure the safe and efficient performance of production and project work by following standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Take ownership for the accurate completion of all assigned tasks.
- Accountable for completing all in-process reports and documents associated with job tasks. Responsible for accuracy and completeness of all paperwork.
- Operators must review with the next shift operator the status of all in-process operations. The information must be accurately and clearly communicated to ensure the smooth operation of the plant, to produce quality products in a safe and efficient manner.
- Fork truck driver experience.
- Good math and mechanical aptitude.
- Strong work ethic. Independently motivated to produce results.
- Must have strong multi-tasking, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment, including the ability to effectively communicate. Be able to share information, resolve issues, give, and receive both positive and negative feedback in a respectful and professional manner.
- Able to work in a hot and cold environment while wearing PPE.
- Excellent work safety history.
What will a future leader do?
- Able to troubleshoot and provide direction for improving operations and processing conditions
- Willing to attend and complete Root Cause Problem Solving (RCPS) training in order to assist others in learning methods and practices
- Active participation on problem solving teams and able to assist through facilitation and training other operators
- Participation in daily Gemba process walks with the area Lead Operators for the purpose of identifying improvement opportunities that can be immediately implemented
- Teaches and trains others in continuous improvement practices
- Trains other operators in the chemistry of the processes and the critical steps in making good products
- Assists in determining process improvement opportunities
- Works closely with lead operators to initiate positive changes in cycle times
- Acts as a mentor to other operators and instills continuous improvement practices and any other assigned duties
