What are the responsibilities and job description for the Concrete Estimator position at Gpac?
Our client, a leading concrete contractor established on a solid reputation of quality workmanship and customer service is seeking an Estimator to their growing company. The ideal candidate will have 5 years experience of cost estimating experience for drainage structures, concrete paving, concrete flatwork, concrete precision slabs, concrete building structures projects. This candidate will have a growth mindset, be a self-starter, and have a professional demeanor when interfacing with clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reviews plans and specifications for jobs
- Does detailed takeoffs on materials, labor, and equipment
- Solicits vendor quotes for materials
- Compiles a detailed estimate in HCSS HeavyBid OnScreen Takeoff
- Sends RFI's to the owner or general contractor during the bid process for clarifications
- Identifies potential issues and take proactive steps to circumvent obstacles
- Identify and prioritize value engineering opportunities
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years experience of construction cost estimating experience
- Experience estimating concrete paving, concrete flatwork, precision concrete slabs, drainage structures and concrete building structures projects
- Experience with HCSS Heavy Bid, Onscreen Takeoff, PlanSwift
- Construction Management or Civil Engineering degree preferred
