Structural Steel Detailing Coordinator (Remote)

Position Overview : As a Structural Steel Detailing Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in the coordination and management of structural steel detailing activities.
The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of shop and erection drawings, a working knowledge of AISC (American Institute of Steel Construction) and AWS (American Welding Society) codes, advanced computer skills, and a minimum of 5-10 years of experience in the structural steel industry.
Key Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with project teams to understand project requirements and specifications.
- Manage and coordinate the structural steel detailing process from conception to completion.
- Ensure adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
- Proficiently read and interpret shop and erection drawings.
- Identify discrepancies and provide timely resolutions to maintain accuracy.
- Apply working knowledge of AISC and AWS codes to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and advancements in structural steel detailing.
- Utilize advanced computer skills to effectively navigate detailing software and other relevant tools.
- Implement technology solutions to enhance detailing efficiency and accuracy.
- Implement and oversee quality assurance processes for structural steel detailing.
- Conduct regular reviews to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other professionals to address detailing requirements.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 5-10 years of experience in the structural steel industry, with a focus on detailing coordination.
- In-depth knowledge of AISC and AWS codes.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting shop and erection drawings.
- Advanced computer skills, including detailing software and other relevant tools.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
