Operations Assistant Steel Fabrication
Location : Pittsburgh, PA area
With an emphasis on structural and miscellaneous steel projects, we aim to maintain strong relationships and a streamlined workflow throughout our operations.
Job Description : We are seeking an Operations Assistant to support the Operations Manager in managing day-to-day activities across all aspects of the business.
This role offers a unique opportunity to learn the operations from the ground up, with the potential for career growth into an Operations Manager position.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist in cost estimation , project scheduling, and performance tracking.
- Coordinate with the team on purchasing materials and ensuring timely delivery.
- Help with logistics and managing the supply chain to meet project deadlines.
- Work with shop drawings and collaborate with the shop floor to ensure accuracy.
- Support in sourcing new suppliers and managing vendor relationships.
- Aid in job costing and managing budget requirements for multiple projects.
- Oversee day-to-day project activities and assist in troubleshooting issues.
- Maintain and update project management tools and systems.
Qualifications :
- 2 years of experience in the steel fabrication industry .
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and project blueprints a plus.
- Eagerness to learn and develop within the company, with the potential to grow into an Operations Manager role.
