Job Description : As a Farm Business Consultant, you will play a key role in providing expert guidance and support to agricultural producers in optimizing their farm operations.
You will work closely with clients to understand their unique challenges and goals and develop customized strategies to enhance their economic performance and overall productivity.
Your responsibilities will include :
1. Economic Analysis and Planning :
- Utilize the ACG E-Val process to conduct comprehensive economic assessments of clients' grain production operations.
- Analyze financial data, input costs, and market trends to develop highly calculated farm plans aimed at maximizing profitability and efficiency.
- Collaborate with clients to establish short-term and long-term goals and develop actionable strategies to achieve them.
2. Agronomic Expertise :
- Leverage agronomic knowledge to provide sound recommendations for soil management, fertilizer applications, crop selection, and pest / disease control.
- Work with clients to implement grid soil sampling and variable rate fertilizer prescriptions through the ACG IntelliGrid program, ensuring precise and efficient resource utilization.
3. Client Engagement and Support :
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as a trusted advisor and resource for all their farm business needs.
- Conduct on-site visits and agronomic scouting to ground truth plans of action, providing hands-on support and guidance as needed.
- Offer ongoing support and assistance to clients, including hybrid performance evaluation, irrigation scheduling, and in-season adjustments.
4. Continuous Improvement and Innovation :
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in agricultural management.
- Continuously evaluate and refine consulting methodologies to deliver the most effective and innovative solutions to clients.
- Contribute to the development of new products and services that address evolving needs and challenges in agriculture.
Qualifications :
- experience in agricultural consulting, farm management, or related roles.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and agronomic information.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
- Knowledge of sustainable farming practices, environmental regulations, and market dynamics.
Willingness to travel to client sites and work flexible hours as needed.
