What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fiber Optic splicer position at GPac?

My name is Shelden, and I am a recruiter in the Telecommunications industry. My team and I are currently partnered with a great company that is looking for an experienced Fiber Optic Splicer to Join their team of professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Splice fiber optic cables, both loose tube and ribbon. Assemble splice case, including grounding, bonding, isolation, storage, and sealing.
- Read and interpret splicing diagrams
- Perform routine maintenance and emergency repair as called upon
- All applicants must follow safety guidelines at all times
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Working knowledge of fiber optic color code
- Working knowledge of fusion splice machine OTDR, power meter, and live traffic identifier
- Ability to troubleshoot network related issues with provided test equipment
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work in all-weather environments and willing to travel for projects in Illinois
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2yrs fiber optic splicing and troubleshooting using common industry test gear and tools;
- Able to work outdoors in all types of weather
