A very reputable MEP Engineering firm is hiring for a FIRE SPRINKLER DESIGNER that will work for hand in hand with the mechanical engineers and act as their support staff. You will ultimately be helping with design/drafting but will also have the chance to be exposed to and work collaboratively in a cross-discipline environment, and dive into helping project teams in the production of engineering drawings and project documents. They are looking for individuals who have a passion and strong commitment to design excellence. Their portfolio consists of some of the most prominent Healthcare/laboratory/research work, as well as some airport, education, retail, corporate Office, and other large commercial project @types.
FIRE SPRINKLER DESIGNER Responsibilities:
Essential Duties:
- Design and layout of fire sprinkler systems.
- Conduct hydraulic analysis of fire sprinkler system designs.
- Review construction drawings and specifications.
- Field survey of both new and existing buildings.
- Attend on-site coordination meetings.
- Time management and prioritization of multiple projects at a time.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of fire sprinkler design experience.
- Certified NICET Level 2 or greater.
- High proficiency in AutoCAD, HydraCAD, Navisworks, HydraCALC, and HydraLIST programs.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Must be detail-oriented and have good communication skills.
- Excellent written language and interpersonal skills.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
