Mechanical Estimator

Essential Job Functions Include:

• Ability to prepare comprehensive, competitive labor and materials estimates for mechanical HVAC/Plumbing projects
• Ability to conduct research to ensure accuracy of all estimates
• Ability to recognize cost-saving opportunities and provide alternative options, when needed
• Ability to understand and create estimates from blueprints, specifications, proposals and related documents
• Ability to improve job costs through negotiation with vendors and subcontractors
• Ability to provide technical and/or estimating support during project design and proposal phases
• Ability to perform on-site data collection to improve the accuracy of all estimates
• Ability to work well with customers, presenting final proposals in a professional manner
• Ability to establish and maintain relationships with contractors

Qualifications:

• 5 years of HVAC/Plumbing estimator experience
• Must work well in a team environment
• Ability to understand blueprints, specifications, proposals and other estimation-related documentation
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook
• Mechanical Estimator or equivalent background
• Associates or Bachelor's Degree in construction-related field a plus however not required
• Time management, verbal and written communication skills are a must
