Job Summary
The CNC Service Technician plays a major role in overall upkeep, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting repairs and breakdowns through their ability to install and repair all CNC machines in the shop.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
1. Machine Installation - Install a wide variety of complex CNC-controlled and manual machinery according to the manufacturer’s specifications.
2. Machine Repair & Troubleshooting - Communicate with operators and setup technicians to determine machine problems. Troubleshoot hydraulics, electronics, software, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
Diagnose & repair problems. Identify & replace parts as necessary. Test & make adjustments. Ability to troubleshoot resourcefully with minimal product support.
3. Communicate with Supervisor regarding job status, follow-up, ongoing concerns, etc.
4. Communicate and follow up with operators and setup technicians as to any ongoing concerns or problems
5. Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
6. Document work by completing all required paperwork and / or data entry. Turn in all required paperwork and or complete data entry in a timely manner.
7. Other miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as required by the position.
Job Specifications
Skills & Knowledge :
1. One years of experience in maintenance / repair of electrical and mechanical systems.
3. Experience with tools & equipment used to troubleshoot, test, calibrate, maintain, and repair electro-mechanical equipment.
4. Able to plan, prioritize, coordinate, and manage own work. Able to work unsupervised and solve routine problems independently, effectively, and creatively.
5. Strong customer service skills.
6. Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle report.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions :
1. Occasional overtime is required in order to service machine breakdowns (nights, weekends possible).
2. Regularly exposed to machine oil, solvents, mineral spirits, confined spaces & noise.
3. Continuous (67% ) trunk bending / stooping, trunk turning / twisting & reaching out.
4. Frequent (34-66%) kneeling, wrist turning, grasping, pinching, neck bending, neck turning.
5. Occasional (11-33%) squatting / crouching, reaching up above shoulder height.
6. Frequent lifting of 1-10 lbs. Occasional lifting of 11-35 lbs.
Competencies :
1. Demonstrated ability to successfully and independently install assigned machine / s.
2. Demonstrated ability to successfully and independently troubleshoot & repair assigned machines.
3. Demonstrated ability to accurately complete and process a Work Order.
4. Demonstrated ability to interact with customers and co-workers in a positive & productive manner.
5. Demonstrated knowledge of safety requirements general safety, Lock-Out / Tag-out, ESD.
