The Estimator is responsible for developing pricing and presenting bids to clients. This includes estimating the cost of a job, determining labor rates, estimating materials and supplies needed for the job, and developing a bid package. The Estimator also must maintain relationships with vendors and coordinate with plumbers to ensure that bids are competitive.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in Plumbing Estimating, and/or management of plumbing projects
- Must have experience estimating projects in excess of $12M
- Ability to operate independently, while possessing the discretionary judgment to know when it is appropriate to consult with others in the organization.
- Develop pricing for jobs using industry standard estimating software (i.e., FastPIPE, and Excel)
- Experience working for a Mechanical, or Plumbing company
- Staying updated with the latest industry practices, and trends
- Expert in estimating formulas
- Must be able to price out different alternatives, and make recommendations to the customer
- Possess excellent numerical skills, negotiating skills, and an analytical mindset
- Provide comprehensive reports so the organization can make informed decisions
- Have great attention to detail
